Business Development Coordinator

The Business Development Coordinator works with cross-office practices and marketing endeavors and provides day-to-day support for marketing and business development initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide support for client pitches and presentations, requests for proposals, targeted research, experience collection and other similar projects.

• Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively and clearly in writing and provide support in the preparation of client communications, practice overviews, attorney bios, and pitch and proposal content.

• Collaborate with the events team to execute the substantive portions of all Troutman Sanders client seminars, webinars and events, including identifying and overseeing the strategic objectives of the event and preparing seminar materials, presentations, and post-seminar correspondences.

• Assist in the coordination and execution of attorney participation in conferences, webinars, tradeshows and other profile-raising events; coordinate and track targeted sponsorships and assist with measuring conference and sponsorship ROI.

• Coordinate directory listings and award nomination submissions.

• Support attorneys on the development and implementation of practice area, industry, office and market-driven business development initiatives.

• Provide support to department members and attorneys using various marketing research, intelligence and technology tools, including CRM software, pitch compilation program, experience databases, company profiling tools and other similar programs.

• Coordinate with other department members and administrative departments, as appropriate, on projects to improve business development support of attorneys.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to communicate ideas or positions in a clear, efficient and organized manner.

• Must display a keen attention to detail.

• Must display an understanding of LinkedIn, blogs, and other social media platforms.

• Must be able to build formal and informal networks both within the organization and outside of the organization in order to share information, ideas and problems.

• Must be able to effectively multi-task and prioritize projects while meeting all appropriate deadlines.

• Must be able to carry out projects from start to finish with minimal supervision and be able to take appropriate actions to ensure obligations are met.

Education and/or Experience:

Three (3) years experience in a law firm in Marketing or Business Development preferred. A college degree preferred, or any combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
