Document Production Specialist - Evening Shift

Summary:

Under general supervision, the Evening Word Processor is responsible for conducting the full range of document processing operations, which includes working on a team in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, deadline driven environment. Advanced Microsoft Office application and proofreading skills are required for this position.

The open position is scheduled to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Creates and edits complex documents/forms to specifications using advanced word processing and software knowledge.
• Utilizes advanced document production skills to create and convert PDF files, fillable forms, perform redaction, use bates numbering, and generate Table of Contents and Table of Authorities.
• Create merge templates for letters, mailing labels, envelopes, name tags, etc.
• Use of transcription software/equipment to transcribe digital media and tapes.
• Utilizes advanced software skills for document comparison and conversion to include OCR/scan documents (text and graphics).
• Performs complex editing and formatting for various correspondence, reports, forms, presentations, statistical tables, and spreadsheets using PowerPoint, Excel (formulas) and other software applications.
• Provide attorneys and staff firm-wide with administrative support such as time entry, data entry, transcription, print and scan documents, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to accomplish tasks quickly and thoroughly with a high degree of accuracy and to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to multi-task and take direction from the Resource Center Manager, Day and Evening Coordinators, attorneys, paralegals, secretaries and other firm personnel.
• Must have the ability to work as a productive member of a virtual team and contribute to continuous improvement of the department and services provided.
• Must have advanced document analysis skills, strong communication skills (both oral and written).
• Ability to quickly grasp processes and procedures and embrace change.
• Intermediate to advance typing skills are required.
• Must be a notary public or be willing and eligible to become a notary public.
• Utilizes the following applications: MS Office 2007; DocX Tools, Adobe and/or Nuance with Bookmarking.

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum of 5 years legal word processing experience and a four year degree from an accredited college or university preferred, or any combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

Preferred qualifications: direct experience working in a center environment, as well as Edgar and desktop publishing experience.
